This Investment Bank’s Foreign Exchange and Money Markets (FXMM) business is embarking on a new strategic project to completely renew its operational platform. Over the next 5 years our client will migrate all of clearing and settlement functions from the current mainframe and rebuild it on a modern Java based distributed system.   

Our client’s FX business is currently ranked 3rd in the world market, processing more than 250,000 trades per day worth a total of 400 billion dollars.  

The renewal of their FX platform will cover both the technical side and the software development model. They will be using an agile development methodology based upon SCRUM.  

The FX Strategic Renewal Programme is looking to recruit a high calibre Business Analyst to work on the FXSR programme. There is an ambitious change programme planned over the next five years to deploy the applications to new businesses and locations together with the decommissioning of the existing application set.  

Working within the core Zurich scrum team, the key responsibilities of the role are

•  Interact with Business stake holders and Product backlog owners to understand their requirements. ·        
• Challenge stake holders to ensure requirements are sensible and deliver benefit to our client
• Work closely with the Architect and Developers in order to shape high quality solutions to meet the requirements. ·        
• Work within the Feature teams to ensure solutions are delivered in a timely and effective manner.    

You will be a team player, with a strong desire to produce elegant, sustainable software solutions. As an experienced analyst, you will be expected to lead by example, coach and develop junior team members in Zurich as welll as members of the other global scrum teams.  

Requirements  

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills and a track record of using these skills to deliver complex IT systems – ideally in an Investment Banking environment. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate these skills at interview.  

The successful candidate will have: ·        

• Good communication and influencing skills. ·        
• Strong problem solving ability. ·        
• Ability to work independently with minimal Managerial input. ·        
• A strong appreciation of agile development practices: e.g. Scrum, TDD, BDD ·         
• Experience of the design and development of systems within a high volume transaction, mission critical environment. ·         
• Knowledge and experience of Analytical best practices and formal analysis methodologies.
• Experience of formal requirement captures tools and techniques.  

For candidates within the IB industry:   ·        

• Experience within a back office settlements, confirmation and clearing environment
• Familiar with the upstream and downstream functions of the settlements and clearing process.
• Knowledge of FX and Money Market Products.
